Description
Kalanchoe Marmorata 1 One freshly taken high quality cutting
Kalanchoe Marmorata 1 One freshly taken high quality cutting approx. 4-5 inches

Easy to root

Origin and Habitat:

Kalanchoe marmorata (penwiper) is a species of flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae, native to Central and West Africa: Ethiopia, Erythrea, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zaire, Rwanda and North Tanzania.

Altitude range:

1250–2400 metres above sea level.

Habitat:

Grows on hill ridges where the drainage is excellent often in grasslands that are heavily grazed by cows, goats and sheep. On the most heavily grazed grassland, where only a few plants such as spiny acacias grow above the level of the closely cropped grasses, one can find K. marmorata with easily visible red flecks on its leaves. But the little damage seen on the kalanchoe leaves suggests that these plants are rarely even tasted, and one can at least offer the interpretation that these markings serve as warnings to day-feeding mammals. - In Stock

Fresh cutting,. very hardy and easy to grow

Growing guide included and this is an easy succulent to grow from cuttingsThe first picture shows the flowers when in sunlight or bright light, the second phot shows how they close in the evening Aptenia cordifolia is a species of succulent plant in the iceplant family known by the common names heartleaf iceplant and baby sun rose.

Perhaps the most common plant seen under this name is actually Aptenia 'Red Apple', a hybrid with red flowers and bright green leaves, whose parents are A. cordifolia and A. (Platythyra) haeckeliana.

The true species of A. cordifolia has magenta purple flowers and more heart-shaped, mid-green, textured leaves. Native to southern Africa, this species has become widely known as an ornamental plant. This is a mat-forming perennial herb growing in flat clumps on the ground from a woody base. Stems reach up to about 60 centimeters long.

The bright green leaves are generally heart-shaped and up to 3 centimeters long. They are covered in very fine bumps. Bright pink to purplish flowers appear in the leaf axils and are open during the day.The fruit is a capsule just over a centimeter long. - In Stock

Slow growing and needs little care

Apocynaceae family

Photo shows one of our larger plants and the roots that appear at the leaf nodes

This is Dischidia platyphylla, which is sometimes called Shingle Plant because the leaves tend to overlap as the grow up or down the surface and give the appearance of shingles on a roof. Growing to 6-feet long, this vine has many thin, twining branches.

It grows in rainforests as an epiphyte.

They are native to tropical areas of China, India and most of Indo-China. Dischidia are closely associated with the sister genus Hoya, but unlike Hoya, the genus Dischidia is poorly known and has not been studied as closely.

The underside of the leaf has a space which is filled with roots that ants take shelter.

Dischidia requires indirect light for at least half the day.

Avoid placing it near doors or windows where drafts can stress the plant.

The best medium is composed of shredded bark or coconut husks - In Stock
